Zdeno Chára: Slovakian Hockey Icon
Zdeno Chára, a legendary Slovakian hockey player, left an indelible mark on the National Hockey League (NHL) as a formidable defenseman. His 24 seasons in the NHL rank him second among European players (behind Jaromír Jágr) and first among defensemen in regular season games played.
Early Career and NHL Draft
Chára's NHL journey began at the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, where he was selected 56th overall by the New York Islanders. He spent four seasons with the Islanders before being traded to the Ottawa Senators in 2001.
Boston Bruins and Norris Trophy
As an unrestricted free agent in 2006, Chára signed with the Bost Zdeno chara twins.
